	En las calles de New York se escribió gran parte de la historia del jazz..En los años 20, esta era la meca donde tenía que llegar todo músico de jazz que quisiera lograr un lugar en el "Hall of Fame".Al norte de la calle 110, a metros del Río Harlem se agruparon una serie de locales como el Apollo Theatre, el Brittwood Bar, Minton´s y el Lenox Club, donde Ella Fitzgerald o Erroll Garner deleitaron al público en la década del 50.Otro centro de reunión era la 52nd Street y sus alrededores, con lugares bailables como Hickory House, el Three Deuces o Birland, bautizado asi porque Charlie "Bird" Parker tocó el día de su inauguración en 1948. Hoy, muchos años despúes, la oferta de jazz que brinda New York es por cierto muy amplia.Desde los conciertos del Carnegie Hall, donde se puede escuchar a Brandford Marsalis hasta la misa de Saint Peters, junto al edificio del Citicorp, donde las plegarias son acompañadas por músicos de jazz (y muy buenos).Si ud es fanático, para empezar, puede hacer una buena llamada a jazzline (479-7888) una línea de teléfono financiada por la Jazz Foundation of America, donde se brinda la programación completa del día.Luego, no se olvide de llamar al lugar donde se realizará el show y si es posible realice una reserva y consulte como llegar.Con respecto a informaciones que le hayan dado hace un tiempo, antes de ir verifique que el lugar siga existiendo (haga lo mismo con las direcciones aqui mencionadas) en esta ciudad los lugares musicales (las "cuevas" como le dicen aqui) abren y cierran en un pestaneo.Aqui le damos una serie de lugares donde podrá escuchar buen jazz.
